Time: 9 am to 5 pm

interview Location: 15403 E 1st Ave, Aurora, CO 80011 (Silverbrook Apartment Homes)

Employment Duration: Regular, Full Time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: Starting at $19/hour + renewal bonus + housing discount + benefits

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Groundskeeper/Building Caretaker to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of our apartment community. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  1. Clean common areas, hallways, lobbies, and stairwells regularly.
  2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
  3. Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
  4. Clean windows, walls, doors, and other surfaces.
  5. Ensure restrooms are clean, stocked with supplies, and in working order.
  6. Perform minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and handling basic plumbing or electrical issues.
  7. Report major maintenance needs or damages to the property manager.

Property Grounds Upkeep:

  1. Maintain the exterior areas by cleaning walkways, removing litter, and ensuring the landscape is tidy.
  2. Ensure proper disposal of garbage and recycling, including managing trash collection days.
  3. Clear snow and ice from walkways, entrances, and parking lots (if required).
  4. Monitor and assist in maintaining outdoor lighting and security systems.

Tenant and Resident Interaction:

  1. Respond to tenant or resident requests for maintenance or assistance.
  2. Ensure residents comply with building rules and regulations.
  3. Assist in communication with contractors or service providers when major repairs or improvements are needed.

Safety and Security:

  1. Ensure that all fire exits, alarms, and safety systems are functioning properly.
  2. Conduct routine inspections of the building for potential hazards.
  3. Secure the building after work hours by locking doors and ensuring windows are closed.

Administrative Tasks:

  1. Keep maintenance logs and records of repairs.
  2. Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment, and order as needed.
  3. Assist with moving furniture or other items for residents or during building events.

General Support:

  1. Assist with preparing vacant units for new residents, including cleaning and minor repairs.
  2. Coordinate with property management to handle emergencies, such as floods or power outages.
  3. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards at all times.

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS:

  • Conduct business in accordance with company policies, Fair Housing laws, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to multifamily housing.
  • Inspect the community on a regular basis and report any needs to the Service Director.
  • Participate in all community maintenance duties, including; housekeeping, groundskeeping and make readies.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience with groundskeeping.
  • Great attitude and willing spirit.
  • Excellent customer service and passion for helping people.
  • Attention to safety and ability to comply with all MSDA Sheets.
  • Good communication and attention to detail.
